The Chamber's first quarterly meeting is set for Wednesday, March 30, 6:30 pm, at Stuthornes on Main (formerly Main Street Cafe, 2122-20 St.). The evening will start with a wine and cheese meet and greet which gives us a chance to visit, catch up and network with fellow business owners.
The featured speaker of the night will be Jason Wellman from Corus Entertainment talking about a 5-Step Marketing Strategy for Business. This will be a learning opportunity that covers the general steps of marketing, so even though Jason works for a company that owns many radio stations, this will not be a push to advertise using any one medium, but will cover the concept much more broadly that should apply to every business. This should also apply to new businesses just starting to look at marketing as well as long-time companies that may be ready to revisit their strategies.
Spring appears to be on its way, and with it, lots of visitors to Nanton! The terrible state of the Canadian dollar has its upside in the increase in American travellers to Canada, and Nanton is right on the way to where they are headed to stay, shop, play and ski.
With the mild weather, the street sweeping has already begun, and this is a great time to get rid of the accumulation of gravel and garbage that inevitably gathers around doorways, steps and planters in the downtown core over the windy winter.
The Chamber of Commerce will once again be collaborating with Nanton Garden Club and Beryl West of Juniper to freshen the barrel planters for anyone who wants to subscribe. Prices and dates to come. Contact Pam for more information at 403-646-2111 or email@example.com.
