We are collaborating with Lethbridge College to offer two different Online Marketing/Social Media workshops around Small Business Week in October. These two sessions should offer relevant information to those of you new to Social Media for Business, as well as those with some knowledge but looking to expand your skills and expertise. It can be confusing to know what the best platforms are and how to use them.
Do you really need to post on Facebook every day? Do Yelp reviews matter? What the hell is Snapchat? Lethbridge College is coming to help us make sense of it all. Even if you already know how to Instagram, the intermediate session may help you with some of the finer points. Intro session Monday, October 24, 6:30-9:30pm, Intermediate session Wednesday, October 26, 6:30-9:30pm. Registration required. Chamber members free, non-members $25 per session, firstname.lastname@example.org or call Pam at 403-646-2111.
November will bring the Annual General Meeting (date to be set), and we will be looking for new executive members. Vice-President Simon Hunt and I have both finished our allowed terms in these positions, and the field is wide open. All executive positions will need to be filled, although we may be able to convince new mom Pauline Higgins from the Candy Store to continue as secretary, now that she has a helper in the form of baby Oscar to assist her.
